This idea is a cool way
that classroom teachers can get the parents of their students involved with
raising funds for a playground. Teachers (at no cost) set up an
account for their classroom. They then use this site to email the parents asking
them for funding assistance for money directly for their child's class. The
Adopt-a-Class is a "bank" for the donated money - no money is ever sent to the
teachers rather they have a credit in the Adopt-a-Classroom account. The
teachers then can "shop" with the vendors Adopt-a-Classroom partners with for
the materials.

Steps: 1. Visit the website adopt a
classroom 2. Set up an account 3. Notify the parents, guardians,
caretakers of the students by sending a memo/newsletter/etc. home about the fund
raiser. 4. Watch as the donations pour in!
Materials Needed: 1. A
computer
Helpful
Hints: A fun way to take this fund raiser to
another level is with a friendly competition. Classrooms can compete to see
which one can raise the most money to go toward the playground and or to
purchase play equipment. The winning classroom would receive an awesome prize
(can be determined by school staff, teachers, etc.)
