    What are assets?

Assets are the skills, talents and gifts of individuals, associations, and organizations, along with natural resources that can be shared with a community.

What are individual assets and resources?

Individuals are just that - individual people who are not necessarily connected to an organization. Individuals can contribute their time and talents to your project.

The strength of Asset-Based Community Development lies in involving as many kinds of people as you can, so think about all the different kinds of folks in your community - not just those who will necessarily use your playspace. For example, teens can contribute creativity, a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to your project. Seniors can bring tradition, history, experience, and a network of contacts.

How can individuals contribute to your project?

    • Individuals can donate their skills and talents to your playspace.
    • Depending on their position, they might also be able to connect your project with important in-kind or product donations.
    • Individuals can connect you to networks they can link you to for even more opportunities!
