Last One Standing

Tags:

How high can you go? During a  parent night (or any gathering), a fun way to raise money is to have all participants present to stand.  The announcer can start off by saying something like "If you are willing to donate $10 tonight, remain standing...if you are willing to donate $20 tonight, remain standing, and so on.  Imagine how much excitement will build as everyone waits to see who will be the last one standing and how much of a donation he or she will be willing to make!

Prep Steps:
1.  During a meeting, have an allotted time in the agenda for fundraising.
2.  Select someone who is fun and energetic to be an announcer
3.  Have the announcer to pump up the crowd with any updates about the progress of the playground/fundraising, etc. projects.
4.  Have the announcer to ask that everyone in attendance at the meeting to stand. Once all that are present are standing, begin ask the BIG question (If you are willing to donate $10 remain standing).
5.  Watch the fun and see how fast the money adds up!

Materials Needed:
1.  Cash box
2.  Pens/pencils/paper
3.  Pledge Cards
4.  Thank you cards for follow-up notes for those who donate

Helpful Hints:
This fun idea is not limited to just school/parent meetings. Engage the community by asking other organizations, churches, etc. to allow a represent to come in and talk about the playground project. Once they are sold on the idea, watch the donations pour in. Check out what a Kaboom website user had to say about this fundraiser here!
